EXCERPTS:
By this time, the braahmin hailing from Dicholim (in Gomantak, present-day Goa) has spent about six years in the devotional service of the Mother (Shri Mahalasa as Shri Mohini Raaj in Nevase, Maharashtra). The Mother of the universe was very much delighted by the pure and unshaken devotion and dedication of that braahmin of Dicholim. One day, She appeared in his dream and directed him thus, "Oh! My dear devotee I am very much pleased by your devotional services. I wish to accompany you to Gomaantak region . As soon as you get up in the morning tomorrow, after finishing your routine activities and rituals, fill in the pitcher, the holy water of Pravara making a resolve. Then place it below My idol at the temple and invoke me. I Myself shall reflect into that. I shall preside there in the form of an image. After that you leave for Dicholim, your native place, with that pitcher and a hemispherical box (samput). When you reach your native place, instal it in a place nearby the river and offer services as per scriptures. Dedicate the remnant span of your life this way at My service without any worries. Your welfare will certainly be promoted day by day, should you do this. Without any second thought and an iota of doubt in your mind, get into action.
"I Myself shall ensure that all necessary arrangements for the construction of the temple are made at Dicholim", so saying the Goddess disappeared."
